Where is my order?
We have implemented social distancing measures at both our UK & US warehouses in order to safeguard the health and well-being of our amazing teams.
Currently with the restrictions in place, this means orders can take up to 14 days to arrive but please be aware we’re working hard to get this to you as soon as possible
How to apply the drops?
Start by mixing between 2-12 drops with your favourite skincare in the palm of your hand. Any formulation of serum, oil, lotion or moisturiser will work. The more drops you use, the deeper your glow will be. Always start out with less drops, as it’s easier to reapply for a deeper colour.
As a rule of thumb, here is a breakdown of how to achieve your desired shade when mixing our drops with your favorite serum, oil, lotion or moisturiser.
2 drops = radiant
4 drops = sun-kissed
8 drops = golden
12 drops = bronzed
Be sure to moisturise your hands, knees, elbows & feet before tanning your body, as these areas are generally drier and product tends to cling to them. It’s also really important to cover/ glide over the skin completely with product to ensure a flawless, streak-free application. And once you’ve applied, don’t forget to wash your hands with soap and water to avoid stained hands!
Can I use your products on my face?
Each of our products work to tan your face, as they’re non-comedogenic & packed with skin-loving ingredients that won’t clog your pores.
However, our body products are formulated with cellutone, which is a firming agent for tightening and smoothing your body. Typically, we like to keep our facial skin plump! Also, the hydrators in each of the products is designed with the perfect percentage to be used on the body and will not be as deeply hydrating as something that was meant to be used on the face. This is why most skincare experts typically don’t recommend using body products on the face. Not because you can’t, you just won’t see or receive many benefits from it.
Can I use The FACE on my body?
The FACE and The BODY are formulated to be used on different areas of the body. For instance, The BODY contains our Cellutone Complex, in order to tone and firm the skin. Just as you would not use your body lotion on your face, we would recommend using The FACE on your face, rather than The BODY.

Similarly The FACE contains moisturising and firming ingredients, which specifically work to nourish and plump the skin on your face and you may not see the full benefits of these ingredients when used elsewhere on the body. However, if you want to try out whether you like the drops for an all over tan, you can absolutely go ahead and use The FACE on your body. Please be aware that this might not be the most economical application in the long run, since you will likely find that you’ll be using up the product more quickly.
Can I pre-mix drops with my skincare?
No, the Self-Tan Drops were developed to be used alongside your existing skincare routine so can be used with Great question regarding pre-mixing your drops with your moisturiser! I have checked in with our product development team and they have advised against this, but I am happy to explain why. If the drops are not mixed/used immediately there could be a lesser result to the depth of colour achieved, this is due to the product oxidising when it is outside of the bottle. Please don’t worry if you are pre-mixing and using on the same day, this would mostly apply to after 24 hrs.
How to prevent dark spots/uneven tan?
It sounds like the product may be clinging to drier areas of the skin, so we would suggest a gentle exfoliation prior to application, this should ensure a more even application. It’s also worth noting that any areas of skin that are more pigmented will hold onto the product and can give a deeper result. In this case we would advise applying a barrier on these areas ie. a richer moisturiser or balm before application, specifically in your areas of concern.
Can I wear make up after applying your products?
Yes, you can absolutely apply make up after using our products. We would recommend allowing the product to dry completely before applying make up in order to give an even result.

Pro tip: try setting your makeup with The Water! I find it allows me to wear a lot less makeup than I would normally, and my skin looks amazing. I’m sure you’ll fall in love!
How many applications per product?
With regards to applications, it really does depend on how much you use and your size (if you are taller, you will naturally use more than someone who is shorter). With our water and mousse products, you can expect to get at least six full body applications from one bottle. With our drops, it depends on how many drops you use, as you can apply between 1-12 drops per area of the body. However, even when applying the maximum number of drops to each limb and the front and back of your torso, you will still get at least six applications.
Can I mix your products with SPF?
While we absolutely recommend the use of a daily SPF to protect your skin, we would advise against mixing the drops with SPF, as the two together may dilute each other and therefore lower the effectiveness of your sunscreen.
To make sure you are getting the best glow and protection, we would recommend applying your drops with your favourite moisturiser, waiting a few minutes for it to sink in and then applying your SPF on top.
How to prep skin?
Before applying our products, we would always recommend prepping your skin 24 hours before application. Any shaving, exfoliating and moisturising should be done the day before to ensure you have the perfect base. (It’s all about the base!)
Immediately before application, we would recommend applying a small amount of moisturiser to dryer areas, such as knees, feet and elbows to help avoid any product build and help achieve a flawless end result.
How long will my tan last?
All our tanning products are developed to last up to one week and to fade like your natural suntan would.
For best results, we would suggest reapplying your preferred product every few days and keeping your skin moisturised – this will help with keeping you glowing for longer.
How long does it take to dry/when can I get dressed?
We would recommend allowing our products to fully dry for a few minutes before dressing. If you would like to speed up your drying time, you can use a hairdryer on the cool setting.
When can I shower after applying?
We would recommend waiting between 6-8 hours to shower, however, as our clear formulations do not contain a guide colour, this is not immediately necessary.
For the longest lasting tan, you can even let your tan develop for around 12 hours!
Can I work out after applying the product?
With any of our products we would advise limiting sweat/working out whilst the tan develops to ensure the best possible result.
If you have worn your tanner for 4-6 hours already and have achieved your desired shade, feel free to rinse the tanning developer off and carry on with your workout after that. This should prevent any unevenness in your tan.
are the products safe to use during pregnancy/breast feeding?
The Cosmetic Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA) has confirmed that it is safe to use self tanning products during pregnancy and breast feeding. We would, however, recommend consulting your doctor or midwife if you have any concerns, to ensure you receive advice that is 100% tailored to your individual needs.
Do all your products contain DHA?
All our tans, with the exception of Instant Hero and Super Gloss, contain naturally derived DHA. Instant Hero and Super Gloss are instant products, so these will wash off in the shower.
what is the Colour Difference in Drops?
We don’t believe in using synthetic dyes in our self tans, therefore, the shade in the bottle can vary depending on when the ingredients were harvested.
Just to give you a little more information; the colour of your tan is produced by the DHA in the product reacting with the melanin in your skin and the colour of the product in the bottle does not affect the result of your tan.
SUPER GLOW vs The FACE
Description for this block. Use this space for describing your block. Any text will do. Description for this block.
Super Glow is our hyaluronic packed serum which adds a gradual glow and plumps out the skin instantly. Key differences to note from The FACE is that Super Glow is not a concentrate and should be applied straight to the skin / does not need mixed or diluted with skincare. It gives a really hydrated boost to the skin and a buildable glow rather than a fuller tan with The FACE.

That being said, if you love the formulation of Super Glow, I have even mixed a couple drops of The Face into it to boost the shade slightly and give me a richer more hydrated glow. The FACE is totally customisable and Super Glow is your one stop shop.
what is the Difference between Super Glow and Super Gloss?
Both products are quite different, but they can absolutely be used in conjunction with each other.
Super Glow is designed to be used as a hydrating serum as part of your daily skincare routine, while also providing a little tan with every application. To receive the full benefits of our hyaluronic complex, the DHA percentage is lower in SUPER GLOW than our other facial self-tans, in order to make this suitable for everyday use without the colour ever becoming too dark.

Super Gloss, on the other hand, is not a self-tan, but an instant bronzing serum. This can be applied as the final step in your skincare routine, before makeup. Depending on how many drops you use this will either provide a light sun-kissed glow or a deeply bronzed tan. There are no tanning actives in this formula, so the colour will be removed at the end of the day when you cleanse.
The Gradual vs The Butter
Description for this block. Use this space for describing your block. Any text will do. Description for this block.
Both of these products offer a buildable, natural glow. The difference between the two is in the texture.
The GRADUAL is a lightweight oil/lotion hybrid body moisturiser, it will literally melt into your skin upon application. It is our fastest gradual tanner, your glow will start to develop within one hour. It can be used daily and also as an aftersun to help maintain your post-holiday glow.
The BUTTER, is super luxurious and deeply nourishing. It has a thicker, richer consistency perfect for skin that needs some TLC and more hydration. Your glow will develop within 2- 4 hours.
Both products are easy to apply and also perfect for beginners. I personally like to use The Gradual in the summer as it’s lightweight on my skin and in the winter I like The BUTTER because it feels more nourishing when my skin is that little bit drier.
If you are looking to deepen your colour more whilst using either of our gradual tanners, you can try mixing with The BODY drops for a deeper tan.
Water vs mousse
Whether you choose to tan with the water or mousse is really down to your own personal preference.
The mousse is a smooth, velvety foam that is designed to be pumped on to a tanning mitt and glided over the skin. The water is designed to be applied as a light mist, ensuring that the skin is saturated with the product and then buffed into the skin using your tanning mitt.
The end result of both products is designed to be the same, it’s really just your preference in formulation!
how long do the products last?
All our products last one year opened or two years unopened.
Which Tan-Luxe product to choose?
If you’re completely new to self tanning and unsure where to start, you can’t really go wrong with The FACE and The BODY. These are self tanning concentrates, which are dropped into your favourite skincare and body care, so they’re really easy to incorporate into your current routine. You can use between 1 and 12 drops of both products and we recommend starting off with fewer drops, to build up to your preferred colour.
As an example, for a natural glow I like 3 drops of The FACE in my moisturiser and to match that, I would then apply 3 drops of The BODY to a scoop of body lotion to each of my arms, 3 drops to the front of my torso and 3 to my back. On the legs, I would add 6 drops per leg, for the lower and upper leg.
We typically recommend choosing your shade based on your skin-tone, not your desired end-result:
• Light/Medium: Red/pinkish undertones that burn easily
• Medium/Dark: Olive/darker tones that tan easily
We do have lots of products to suit a variety of needs, so if you have dry skin, you might like our WONDER OIL or The BUTTER for the body, as both are deeply nourishing. Or, if you’re into skincare, you would love our SUPER GLOW hyaluronic packed serum for during the day and SLEEP OIL at night.
What colour suits me?
We would recommend choosing the shade that best describes your current skin-tone, not the tone you want to achieve.
We suggest the Light/Medium shade if you have cool toned skin with red/pinkish undertones which tends to burn easily in the sun. If you have an olive or darker skin tone and tan easily, we would suggest using our Medium/Dark shade.
If you are unsure, you can send us a picture of your skin tone and we would be more than happy to advise which shade is best for you.
Are your products vegan?
Until recently, our products; The Face, The Body, The Water, & The Gradual contained Hydrolysed Silk (which is derived from the discarded cocoon of the silk worm) – so could not be fully classed as vegan.
However, from spring 2019 we have re-formulated these products and are excited to confirm that our line is now 100% vegan, cruelty-free & only uses naturally derived ingredients.
Do you test on animals? / Are the products sold in China where animal testing is mandatory?
I am happy to say that we are proudly cruelty free and we do not test on animals. We also do not sell our products in countries which require third-party animal testing.
